Well where do I begin?

The live streamed remembrance service went well although it was a great pity that we could not have the usual service but I am sure that you agree something was better than nothing. Positive comments was paid to all who took part and worked hard to put the service together under a difficult situation. It transpired on our Facebook page that we had viewers from Scotland, Spain and North Carolina in America! Wow we went international.

Thank you for the act of remembrance that was set up at St Wilfrid’s and the photos shared on the Facebook page. Special thanks to those who opened up at St Thomas’s for a time of private prayer on remembrance day which incorporated the 2 minutes silence. Well done everyone involved.

So we have no hesitation in live streaming a Sunday morning service on Wilfrid’s Facebook page for the next few weeks. Just go to Facebook search for StWilfridsKirkby (all one word), click on and off you go.

15th November a service of Morning Worship at 10 am
22nd December a service of Morning Worship at 10 am (Christ the King)
29th November 1st Sunday of Advent service at 10 am

Just think, you can be having your breakfast, morning brew and joining in with the service from the comfort of your own home. and singing to a hymn or two. Please note that the services will not have a Eucharist element within them. I do not feel comfortable in me taking communion and you are not so therefore I will refrain from that and wait with you for when we can take communion together.

Following the sad news last week of the death of Reverend John Mulholland Burgess, I am now able to say that I have been asked to be a part of John’s funeral which is a great privilege I can assure you. John’s funeral is on the 4th December at 13.15 so I ask if you will hold John in your prayers at that time.

DAILY HOPE
Whilst the churches are in lock down you may wish to use Daily Hope for personal prayer. The line which is available 24 hours a day on 0800 804 8044 – has been set up particularly for those unable to join online church services.
